Savannah Country Day won its first game of the season as the underdog Hornets celebrated their homecoming with a 21-10 win over Savannah Christian, their first win over the Raiders since 2021 as senior running back Thomas Holland led the way.
Benedictine rallied from a 14-0 deficit to beat host Statesboro with senior Eron Mallard scoring four touchdowns
in the 42-21 victory.Richmond Hill and South Effingham each won as the teams remained undefeated with some notable individual performances.
In volleyball, Savannah Christian's Myla Shippy and Savannah Country Day's Olivia Oliottaeach reached career milestones.

teams had elite performances at the Wingfoot XC Classic in Cartersville.

Myla Shippy, Savannah Christian
The junior combined for 26 kills and 14 digs as the Raiders (28-2) swept Richmond Hill and South Effingham on Thursday. She notched her 1,000th career kill in the win over Richmond Hill.
Khyran White, South Effingham
The senior ran for 190 yards and three touchdowns as the Mustangs improved to 4-0 with a win over Greenbrier.
Eddie Howell, Richmond Hill
The senior finished fifth at the Wingfoot XC Classic in Cartersville with a time of 15:48.70 as he helped the Wildcats win the team title.
Jah'barri Felix, Bradwell Institute
The senior threw for 344 yards and five touchdowns in a win over Glynn Academy.
Justine Nevels, South Effingham
The senior, who has committed to play at UNC Wilmington, went 1 for 3 with a home and two RBIs in the Mustangs 4-3 win over Richmond Hill.
Thomas Holland, Savannah Country Day
The senior rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown on 29 carries and had seven tackles with two for losses and an interception in a win over Savannah Christian.
Nick Cameron, Richmond Hill
The senior had seven catches for 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a win over Wando.
Olivia Oliotta, Savannah Country Day
The senior outside hitter and team captain notched her 1,000th career kill last week in a match against Glynn Academy.
Omari Burse, Benedictine
The senior was 14 of 20 passing for 236 yards and three touchdowns in the win at Statesboro.
Chloe Miller, Richmond Hill
The junior finished 15th at the Wingfoot XC Classic in Cartersville with a time of 18:48.40 to help the Wildcats finish fourth in the team standings.
Jaylon Elliott, Jenkins
The senior ran for 112 yards and three touchdowns on just six carries in a win over Evans.
Cameron Keeve, Bradwell Institute
The senior rushed for 128 yards and a pair of scores and had 80 yards receiving with a touchdown catch in the win at Glynn Academy.
Malachi Daniels, Windsor Forest
The senior linebacker had 16 tackles with a tackle for a loss, a sack and a forced fumble in a win at Bryan County.
Matthew Dillon, Effingham County
The sophomore threw three touchdown passes in a win over Lakeside-Evans.
Jayden Martin, Windsor Forest
The junior rushed for 135 yards with a touchdown and two-point conversion and was 11 of 16 passing for 148 yards in the win at Bryan County.
Turner Chase, Savannah Country Day
The junior had a team-high 11 tackles for the Hornets in the win over Savannah Country Day.
Gaby Kenard, Habersham School
The junior won the Raider Invitational with a time of 20:27.32 on the 3.1 mile course.
Kelvin Banks Jr., Bradwell Institute
The junior won the Raider Invitational with a time of 16:33.63 on the 3.1 mile course.
