Here are the top performers from Week 2 in Lubbock-area high school football.
Rylan Thomas, Lubbock-Cooper Liberty
Thomas racked up seven sacks and one
tackle for loss in a win over Frenship.
Logan Winn, Shallowater
Winn completed 20-of-34 passes for 347 yards and four TDs in a win over Seminole. He also ran for 76 yards and a TD on eight carries.
Buddha Guerra, Seminole
Guerra rushed 23 times for 100 yards and two TDs, in addition to eight catches for 122 yards and two TDs.
Jaivyth Cruz, Ropes
Cruz ran for 136 yards and four TDs on 17 carries in a win over New Home. He added 13 tackles (four solo), including two for a loss.
Nathan Ortega, Lamesa
Ortega rushed for 120 yards and two TDs on 15 carries in a win over Muleshoe. He also recorded three tackles (one solo) and two interceptions.
Landyn Garcia, Post
Garcia was 13-of-17 passing for 211 yards and four TDs in a win over Trinity Christian. He also ran for 66 yards and a TD on two carries.
Talon Wilcox, Lubbock-Cooper Liberty
Wilcox ran for 167 yards and three TDs on 26 carries. He added a 3-yard reception.
Haden Provence, Sudan
Provence ran for 156 yards and three TDs on 18 carries in a win over Sundown. He was 1-of-6 passing for 60 yards.
Jax Perez, Post
Perez recorded five catches for 106 yards and four TDs.
Cade Escalon, New Deal
Escalon ran 18 times for 132 yards and three TDs in a win over Roosevelt.
Jacob Gonzales, Seminole
Gonzales was 47-of-69 passing for 498 yards, four TDs and an interception.
Isaac Rodriguez, Lubbock-Cooper Liberty
Rodriguez recorded four tackles (three solo), three sacks and two fumble recoveries.
Ty Martinez, Lamesa
Martinez was 9-of-16 passing for 141 yards and two TDs. He also ran for 111 yards and a TD on 12 carries.
Randon Curtis, Post
Curtis ran for 121 yards and two TDs on 12 carries.
Alex Moravcik, Shallowater
Moravcik caught three passes for 115 yards and two TDs.
J.D. Rubio, Lamesa
Rubio had six catches for 110 yards and two TDs.
A.J. Huddleston, Idalou
Huddleston ran eight times for 103 yards and two TDs in a win over Monahans.
Jaycen Robledo, Seminole
Robledo made 12 catches for 145 yards and a TD.
Micah Martinez, Coronado
Martinez recorded 10 tackles (six solo), including one for a loss, and an interception he returned for a TD in a win over Lubbock High.
Micah Blackshear, Shallowater
Blackshear had five catches for 128 yards and a TD.
Britton Mitchell, Ropes
Mitchell led the team with 17 tackles (five solo), including six for a loss, and a quarterback pressure.
Blayce Jeter, Shallowater
Jeter led the team with 11 tackles, in addition to running for 67 yards and a TD on five carries.
Aydin Campbell, Seminole
Campbell had 13 catches for 110 yards.
Kaden Riker, Ropes
Riker totaled 12 tackles (three solo), including four for a loss, one sack and a quarterback pressure.
Cruz Dickson, Shallowater
Dickson had eight catches for 85 yards and one TD. He also made five tackles.
Darrius Tillman, Monterey
Tillman recorded eight tackles (three solo), including two for a loss, and a sack in a loss to Abilene Wylie.
Caleb Bann, Coronado
Bann led the team with 14 tackles (five solo) and two pass breakups.
Jossue Lozano, Farwell
Lozano made 13 tackles (eight solo), including one for a loss, in a loss to Texico (N.M.).
Cutter Johnson, Abernathy
Johnson was 9-of-12 passing for 183 yards, one TD and one interception in a loss to Seagraves.
Cy Leach, Lubbock-Cooper Liberty
Leach was 12-of-19 passing for 129 yards and one TD.
Kolt Micheletti, Abernathy
Micheletti ran 15 times for 59 yards and two TDs.
Kyler Edwards, Sudan
Edwards ran for 40 yards and two TDs on 17 carries. He also made four tackles (one solo), including one for a loss, and a sack.
Caden Bird, Abernathy
Bird had four catches for 86 yards and one TD. He also ran for 13 yards on three carries.
