Five starters are among the players listed on Texas Tech football's initial availability report for Friday's matchup against Houston.
Four players are listed as questionable, all of them starters with two on each side of the ball. Among the questionable players are safety Brenden Jordan (who is expected back after serving a two-game suspension for a violation of team rules); tight end Terrance Carter Jr. (who missed the Oregon State game); outside linebacker Trey White (who has yet to play this season); and receiver Kenny Johnson, who spoke to the media on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
Cornerbacks Amier Boyd and Ashton Hampton are listed as out for the game, as is offensive lineman Elias Gillen. Boyd was supplanted by Davin Martin as the one of the starting
cornerbacks on Tech's depth chart, released on Monday, after having an interception against the Beavers.
