A slider restaurant franchise is hoping the third time's the charm for the 806 area, this time with locations for Lubbock and Amarillo on the horizon, according to a company news release.
Smalls Sliders, a cheeseburger slider concept that began in Louisiana in 2019, has announced West Texas expansions since 2023. While that deal, and the 2025 announcement
, fell through, the company hopes this one will stick."Lubbock has been on our radar for some time, and we have never wavered in our belief that Smalls Sliders can be successful in this market," the Smalls Sliders Corporate stated via email. "Not every relationship ultimately results in cans opening, but that does not change the opportunity we see here. We are extremely confident in West Texas
Sliders, their commitment to the market and their ability to execute. We believe we now have the right partners in place to finally bring Smalls Sliders to the hardworking communities of the 806."
The 2026 deal has Andrew Bailey and Justin Chick as first-time restaurant franchisees, who hope to open at least three locations across Amarillo and Lubbock. The two come from the IT and security sectors.
"We’ve always been interested in bringing something fresh and unique to our community, and Smalls Sliders felt like the right opportunity to make that move into the restaurant industry," Bailey and Chick said in a joint statement. "Across our other businesses, we’ve learned that taking care of your team is one of the most important parts of building a successful operation. We’re excited to bring that same approach to Smalls Sliders and build a team that delivers great service and a consistently positive experience."
The first location will be in Amarillo within the next 12 months, with Lubbock following, Bailey and Chick stated. The location is still in the development process, so an address has not been announced yet.

Smalls Sliders is recognized for its "Smorange-colored shipping containers," known as Cans. It offers a simple menu of cooked-to-order sliders, milkshakes and seasoned waffle fries.
