Here's a look at the best high school football games in the Lubbock area in Week 5.
GAME OF THE WEEK
Hawley (2-2) at Post (3-1)
7 p.m. Friday, Jimmie Redman Memorial Stadium
For the first time this season, we'll see how Post responds to a loss.
Slaton edged the Antelopes 28-24 with a late score Friday. It was the most points allowed by Post after giving up 19 total the first three weeks. It was also the fewest points scored by the Bold Gold.
However, it was arguably Post's toughest test thus far — and a rivalry game, to boot. The Tigers are also the first Class 3A team the Antelopes have faced.
This week, Post will face a Hawley team in its weight class. The Bearcats, too, are looking to rebound.
Hawley fell 21-14 to undefeated Early on Friday. It was both the lowest scoring output and best
defensive showing the Bearcats have had this season.
Hawley has yet to lose consecutive games, rattling off a pair of wins after a Week 1 setback to Albany.

Idalou (4-0) at Shallowater (4-0)
7 p.m. Friday, Todd Field
Last week: Idalou 60, Fort Stockton 20; Shallowater 35, Monahans 21
One of these teams gets to hand its bitter rival a first loss.
Whiteface (4-0) at Borden County (4-0)
7 p.m. Friday, Coyote Stadium
Last week: Whiteface 70, Westbrook 24; Borden County 82, Rankin 36

Frenship (1-2) at Amarillo Tascosa (1-2)
7 p.m. Thursday, Dick Bivins Stadium
Last week: Both teams open
Despite struggles the first three weeks, one of these teams will leave 1-0 in district.
Ropes (3-0) at New Deal (4-0)
7 p.m. Friday, Noland Stadium
Last week: Ropes 42, Panhandle 34; New Deal 27, Seagraves 20
The Eagles are coming off a marquee win. How will they respond to unbeaten New Deal on the road?
Levelland (2-2) at Littlefield (4-0)
7 p.m. Friday, Wildcat Stadium
Last week: Sweetwater 44, Levelland 0; Littlefield 62, Christoval 21
The Lobos are reeling after back-to-back losses, but they have the talent to challenge undefeated Littlefield.
