The Texas Tech football team saw its spot in the national polls dip a bit after a so-so performance in the season opener.
The Red Raiders entered the 2026 regular season ranked 12th in both the Associated Press Top 25 and US LBM Coaches Poll. They opened the campaign with a 33-10 home win over Abilene Christian in Galaxy Stadium.

Texas Tech dropped one spot to No. 13 in the coaches poll, released Tuesday. Alabama jumped ahead of the Red Raiders, who are two spots above fellow Big 12 team BYU. Next week's opponent, Houston, is No. 22 while Utah is 20th.
Texas Tech heads to Corvallis to take on Oregon State in Week 2. The game is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. Central kick.
