Here's a look at the best high school football games in the Lubbock area in Week 4.
GAME OF THE WEEK
New Deal (3-0) at Seagraves (3-0)
7 p.m. Friday, Eagle Stadium
It's unlikely many before the season expected this to be a matchup of unbeaten teams.
New Deal has taken a more treacherous path, even if a pair of opponents have started slower than preseason projections. The Lions' wins over Farwell, and most recently Slaton, bucked the predictions by Pigskin Prep.
New Deal has reached this point on the back of a stout defense. The Lions have given up 26 points, including a shutout of Roosevelt in Week 2. The 28-7 decision over Slaton lowered New Deal's average to 8.7 points allowed per game.
Seagraves' opponents are 1-7 combined, but the team continues to take care of business. The Eagles had their
best defensive outing in a 34-6 road win at Crosbyton last week. They've scored 34.3 points per game.
Perhaps Seagraves' undefeated start shouldn't be considered surprising. The Eagles reached the second round of the playoffs last year and returned much of that experience. A win Friday would give the program its first 4-0 record since 2016, when Seagraves finished as a 10-4 regional finalist.
This is the first meeting between New Deal and Seagraves since 2011. The Lions won four consecutive matchups beginning in 2008.

How will the Eagles look after an extended break between games?
Tahoka (2-1) at Floydada (2-1)
7 p.m. Friday, Tyer Stadium
Last week: Tahoka 51, Morton 15; Floydada 44, Smyer 0
One of these teams is improving to 3-1. That'll be a huge confidence boost.
Post (3-0) at Slaton (1-2)

The Tigers are slumping, but this rivalry usually delivers.
