Joey McGuire is optimistic the Texas Tech football team will have more weapons on the field of Galaxy Stadium for the Red Raiders' showdown against Houston.
Safety Brenden Jordan has wrapped his two-game suspension for a violation of team rules and will return to action on Friday night. As for a pair of injured starters, that's up to how the short week of preparation goes.
Outside linebacker Trey White (back) has missed the first two games of the season while tight end Terrance Carter Jr. was in a boot before the game and missed Texas Tech's 35-24 win over Oregon State.
"Trey and TC are trending in the right direction," McGuire said. "They both had good runs this morning. They're doing their recovery stuff right now. Trey will get a little bit
individually this afternoon and then TC will get some scout periods this afternoon. Feeling good as long as we don't have any setbacks to getting those guys back."
