A Texas-based credit union branch is set to open on Monday in Lubbock with a grand opening and community event.
GECU will open a branch at 5035 Milwaukee Ave., in the Canyon West shopping center at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, according to a news release. The 2-hour event will include a community gathering with activities including raffles, meet-and-greet with GECU mascot Dru Blue, and Texas Tech attendees. Signs will show where people can park nearby for the event.
GECU will also receive a Purple Heart Business designation and present checks to the winners to the Community Vote for Impact initiative.
The event will include attendance from Texas Tech Cheer Team, Raider Red, GECU leadership, Mayor Mark McBrayer, and nonprofit representatives.
