The City of Lubbock, in partnership with Texas Tech University, will host the 2026 Citywide Back-2-School Bash from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, 1501 Mac Davis Lane.
The free, family-friendly event will provide 8,000 K–12 studentswith clear backpacks and basic school supplies, according to a city news release.
Backpacks will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Children must be present to receive a backpack.

As part of the event, Lubbock Public Health District will provide Immunization Record Assistance. No immunizations will be administered on-site, but parents can come and learn what shots their children need and receive information on where they can go to get them.
