Prosperity Bank and the City of Lubbock have once again partnered to honor those who were lost during the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks with the annual American Tribute Flag Field now through Sept. 14 at Huneke Park, 4001 82nd St.
Prosperity Bank associates and area first responders placed 1,000 flags in the park early Friday, Sept. 4., and they will remain on display through 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14.
"With the help of the Lubbock Parks and Recreation Department and volunteers, our community comes together every year to honor the sacrifices of those who have served, both past and present.” said Mike Marshall, West Texas Area Chairman for Prosperity Bank.
“We hope the community will come out to enjoy this patriotic display; remember those lost
in the tragedy of 9/11 and recognize the daily commitment of our local first responders.”
This year’s tribute holds special significance as the nation marks 25 years since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. It's the 24th year for the American Tribute Flag Field in Lubbock.
The public is invited to view the American Tribute Flag Field throughout the week.
