South Plains College’s Designer Bag Bingo event on Aug. 29 brought established and new patrons to a ladies’ night out at the Wallace Theater in Levelland.
With the help of generous community members, the institution garnered $45,040 for SPC student scholarships, according to a news release from SPC.
Attendees enjoyed an evening of bingo for a chance to win designer handbags and participated in games including the evening's grand raffle prize: a Louis Vuitton handbag. All proceeds, from ticket sales to sponsorships, funded SPC scholarships.
Ticket sales and event sponsorships totaled $38,325. Additional bingo booklets, raffle tickets, drink tickets and donations raised $6,715.
“From the food to the prizes to the gorgeous venue, the evening couldn’t
have gone better,” said Samantha Goldie, director of Development and Alumni Relations. “Putting on a designer bag bingo has been in the works for a while, and I am elated the community responded so well to it.”
