The Lubbock Light Park, which became a holiday highlight for many in the community, is no more, according to the organization's social media.
The Lubbock Light Park announced late Monday that the drive-thru Christmas lights display at the South Plains Mall will not return this season. The owners sold the show, which will move to Arlington's Frostival at Howell Family Farms, according to the post.
"What started as a little idea turned into thousands of cars coming through every Christmas, and it was really cool seeing families make it part of their Christmas traditions," the post stated. "We’re really thankful for everyone who supported us, came through the show, shared our posts, told their friends, and came back each year. Lubbock supported this
thing from the beginning, and we’re grateful for that."
The event initially started in 2024, operating from November through December with light scenes, synchronized holiday music and colorful lights.
"We’re also excited to see the show continue in Arlington and become part of Frostival," the post stated. "What you saw at Lubbock Light Park will have a new home there this Christmas. Thank you to everyone who made Lubbock Light Park such a fun part of Christmas in Lubbock. We had a blast doing it!"
