The Texas Tech football team took a major tumble in the national polls after suffering a humbling first loss of the season.
The Red Raiders (6-1, 3-1) were taken to task by Cincinnati, falling 37-24 in a game that wasn't as close as the final score. For the setback, Texas Tech dropped nine spots in the US LBM Coaches Poll, coming in at 14th after climbing to No. 5 last week.
Utah is now the highest-ranked Big 12 team in the coaches poll, rising to No. 5 after beating Houston. BYU, which lost in overtime at UCF, fell to No. 9.
Houston is 19th and Arizona 21st while Oklahoma State just missed the cut of being a ranked team.
Texas Tech is set to host Arizona this week.
