The Texas Tech football program continues to be a place to be for top recruits, not only those from instate but ones being sought from coast to coast.
The Red Raiders picked up a commitment on Tuesday, Aug. 25, from Austin Attalah, a 6-foot-7, 305-pound offensive tackle who's starting his junior year at Orange (Calif.) Lutheran. For the 2028 recruiting class, Attalah is rated the top player in California and the No. 27 overall prospect in the country on the 247Sports composite index, a consensus view of multiple recruiting services.
He chose Tech over Southern California and Texas. More
than 30 major-college programs, most from Power Four conferences, have offered Attalah a scholarship. Among them are Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Miami (Fla.), Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State and Texas A&M.
Attalah's the second player to pledge to Texas Tech for the 2028 class, following punter Luc Normand from Houston Second Baptist.
