Tax Free Weekend is coming up and many businesses are announcing special deals, including the South Plains Mall. Here's what the mall will offer starting Friday, Aug. 7, according to a mall news release.
The mall, located at 6002 Slide Road, stated that retailers will not be required to collect sales taxes on most clothes and shoes that cost less than $100. The Texas Comptroller's Office lists numerous clothes, items and school supplies that should be exempt at comptroller.texas.gov/taxes/publications/98-490/. Tax free weekend typically saves customers $0.08 per dollar.
During the sale, the mall will host several events, including:
- Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls Drive. Donations accepted through Sunday.
- Dillard’s Kids Day on Saturday.
- Vitalant Blood drive on Saturday.

can be viewed at southplainsmall.com/sales.
