Last week was highlighted by what was the biggest Section 1 upset this season — at least so far — as Pleasantville beat Albertus Magnus on the road. That, of course, precipitates the most significant change in the ranking, but it's not the only one.
Mamaroneck made a considerable jump in the top 10, and undefeated Clarkstown South and Byram Hills earned their debuts.

Girls soccer power rankings
1. Rye (4-0-1)
The Garnets added two impressive wins to a lengthy list last week, comfortably beating Arlington and Harrison - two teams in the top five of this ranking. They'll face Pelham and Ursuline this week. Last week: 1
2. Pleasantville (6-0)
They make the quantum leap into this slot after an incredible week that included two blowout wins and a 2-1 upset of Albertus Magnus.
The Panthers were the first Section 1 team, besides Rye, to beat Albertus Magnus since 2019. Last week: 3
3. Albertus Magnus (3-1-2)
The Falcons have faltered a bit, including playing to ties in two games they could've won, and being without star forward Alexis Diaz is obviously a challenge. They've got enough games remaining to adjust and pick up steam, but John Jay-East Fishkill on Wednesday won't be a layup. Last week: 2
4. Arlington (4-1-1)
They shook off the loss to Rye with a 3-0 victory over Ursuline the following day and later played Albertus Magnus to a scoreless tie. After losing several key players to graduation, the Admirals still are finding their footing and this group likely will improve over the next month. Last week: 4
5. Harrison (4-2)
Their offense has been slow to get going, but the Huskies have stifled most of their opponents and found ways to win. The losses — to Oceanside and Rye — are pardonable and Harrison will be one of the favorites in Class AA. They've got some tests coming up with Eastchester and Byram Hills this week. Last week: 5
6. Mamaroneck (4-0-2)
The Tigers pounced over two slots in the ranking in part because of a dominant win over Scarsdale and, in part, because some of the teams ahead of them faltered last week. Mamaroneck has won games decisively, and the ties came against Pelham and North Rockland. Last week: 9
7. Clarkstown South (5-0)
The Vikings debut and approach the middle of the ranking after an impressive week that included wins over Horace Greeley and North Rockland. They've allowed only a goal thus far and Lyla Kelly and Alessandra Arciniegas are becoming quite a tandem. Last week: N/R
8. North Rockland (2-1-3)
The Raiders are going through a bit of a rough patch, including tying Tappan Zee and losing to Clarkstown South last week. That cost them a couple spots in the ranking, but their longstanding reputation earns them some faith. On Tuesday they'll host Pearl River, which isn't a pushover. Last week: 6
9. John Jay-East Fishkill (5-3)
They had a tough schedule, facing three quality opponents in a short period, and the Patriots stumbled a bit. They dropped close games to Scarsdale and Pelham, which cost them a couple slots in this ranking. We still believe John Jay will be among the last standing in the Section 1 Class AAA playoffs, though. Last week: 7
10. Byram Hills (4-0)
The Bobcats have quietly excelled early on, pulling out some notch-in-the-belt wins over John Jay-Cross River and Eastchester. They haven't allowed a goal since their opening game, and sophomore Amelia Amenedo is a constant threat offensively. Last week: N/R
On the bubble: Clarkstown North (4-1), Croton-Harmon (4-0-1), Pelham (3-0-1), Tuckahoe (3-1-1)
