Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman's campaign has less than $200,000 on hand heading into the final month before Election Day, his campaign's latest disclosure report reveals.
Filed just after midnight on Saturday, Oct. 3, Blakeman's campaign reported spending nearly $10.5 million between July and the end of September. After starting the month with $4.3 million, the difference leaves Blakeman with just over $177,900.
The Nassau County executive has received $1.27 million from the Nassau County Republican Committee and $125,000 from the Suffolk County Republican Committee since July.
Here's the latest.
How much money did Blakeman's campaign receive in the first half of 2026?
According to his campaign's July periodic report, Blakeman raised just over $3 million between March and July, bringing him to nearly
$4.6 million on hand at the time.
While Blakeman is partaking in the state's Public Campaign Finance Program, it's been a point of contention throughout his campaign as the state's Public Campaign Finance Board initially denied Blakeman access to matching funds in March due to a paperwork error, a decision later reversed in a court battle.
Blakeman has received almost $770,000 from the state's Public Campaign Finance Program and qualified for an additional $1.2 million as of June 30.
Additionally, more than 2,600 donations worth more than $860,000 in public funds that had been marked by Blakeman's campaign as eligible for the state's campaign finance program, weren't, New York Focus recently reported.
Blakeman has reportedly requested matching funds for over 1,900 contributions from donors outside of New York, which New York Focus says wrongly stated were from "in-district" donors. Blakeman's campaign has not immediately responded to the USA TODAY Network's request for comment, but it told the New York Focus that the errors had been corrected and amended reports had been filed.
What about Hochul?
Incumbent Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul's campaign is sitting much more comfortably less than 30 days out from Nov. 3.
Hochul's campaign started the most recent disclosure period with more than $21 million and added over $12.89 million from multiple donors, including $10 million from the New York State Democratic Committee. The cash-on-hand total for Hochul at the end of September was just more than $19 million as the campaign spent nearly $15 million.
Between January and June of this year, Hochul's campaign raised $5.6 million from 27,000 unique donors, including a combined $36,000 from two well-known names in western New York — Buffalo Bills owners Terry and Kim Pegula.
