More severe thunderstorms are possible across the New York City area Wednesday, Sept. 2, after several days of dreary weather.
Wednesday morning began with fog and rain in New York City following overnight showers. The National Weather Service is forecasting additional showers and thunderstorms through the afternoon and evening.
As of early Wednesday morning, the National Weather Service had not issued a severe thunderstorm watch or warning for New York City or the Hudson Valley. However, additional rainfall could worsen flooding concerns after thunderstorms moved through the region Tuesday. Saturated soil and elevated water levels in low-lying areas could increase the risk of localized flooding.
Rain chances continue Thursday before conditions
are expected to improve heading into the Labor Day weekend.
