Boldface names have been out and about in Westchester lately with news of the New York Knicks enjoying steak in Scarsdale, actor Tracy Morgan grabbing a sandwich in North White Plains, pizza reviewer Dave Portnoy in Montrose and the crew from NBC's "Law & Order SVU" filming in Ardsley. This, after recently shooting scenes at a diner in Pleasantville.
The New York Knicks enjoy steak in Scarsdale
The New York Knicks kicked off their training camp in late September with a team dinner at One Rare Italian Steakhousein Scarsdale. The restaurant posted news of their meal on Instagram Sept. 30, saying it was "an honor" to serve them.
This is not the first time One Rare has been in the news.In December 2025, the fine dining
establishment landed on USA TODAY's roundup of best steakhouses across the country. The restaurant, which opened in 2023, is known for its show-stopping bone-in tomahawk, perfectly aged porterhouse and unwavering commitment to always delivering the best. The restaurant is also certified by the Japanese government to serve Kobe beef — the only place in Westchester with that bragging right.

Tracy Morgan goes for extra sauce in White Plains
Actor/comedian Tracy Morgan filmed in North White Plains near Giovanni's Italian Deli on Sept. 30. Owner Giovanni Difuccia, forever savvy with media (he's a social media guru known for his "Time to make a sangwheech!" Instagram and TikTok videos), made Morgan one of his famous creations: a meatball parmigiana with extra sauce.
Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports tries Pizzeria Baci in Montrose
He pronounces both Montrose and Baci wrong on his YouTube video but social media star Dave Portnoy, who visited Pizzeria Baci in Montrose Oct. 3, called it unique, giving it an 8.1 score. "Very good" and "so crispy" were among his comments. The founder of Barstool Sports, who is known for his one-bite pizza reviews, also loved owner Chris Weisman's background story on how he survived Stage 3 cancer, was on food stamps and found a career in pizza.
Weisman's pizza has long been a winner in our books with The Journal News/lohud readers naming it the best pizza last April. The master pizzaiolo, who opened a second pizza outpost called Baci in the Square in Ardsley in mid-July, also just opened Baci Italian Bakery next door to his place in Montrose. 2083 Albany Post Road, 914-824-0007, pizzeriabaci.com.

NBC's 'Law & Order SVU' films in Ardsley
No word if the "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" crew stopped for food at any of the restaurants on Addyman Square in Ardsley, but they were definitely there filming in the sunshine Oct. 7 with this reporter getting a glimpse of actor Peter Scanavino. Scanavino plays ADA Dominick Carisi, Jr., aka "Sonny" in the long-running crime drama. He was seen walking to a blue car along with other actors.
