Both contestants with New York connections remained in the game Wednesday after Episode 4 of “Survivor 51.”
After two contestants were eliminated last week, the remaining players faced another game-changing twist: The tribes were reshuffled, and a new tribe was formed. Now, contestants must navigate new relationships and unfamiliar territory for the rest of the game.
Here’s what happened in Episode 4 of “Survivor 51.”
Who are the two New York contestants on ‘Survivor 51’?
“Survivor 51” features two contestants with connections to New York.
Mike Pinsky, 32, is an assistant director of baseball operations for the New York Yankees.
Ori Jean-Charles, 27, is a personal trainer from Spring Valley, New York.
Both remained in the game after Episode 4.
What happens in Episode 4?
The episode picks up after another Tribal Council, where Patt
Cannaday, 33, of Washington, D.C., became the latest contestant eliminated.
Cannaday’s departure was less about her character and more about her position in the tribe’s strongest alliance.
The six Toka members outside the five-person alliance of Cannaday, Devin Way, Mike Pinsky, Angelica “Jelly” Loblack and Brady Booker decided to vote out someone within the group. Thien An Nguyen suggested targeting Cannaday, emerging as a stronger player in the eyes of the tribe.
Booker believed the two newcomers, Carter Krull and Lewis Kelly, would support his plan to vote out Danny Kilby. Instead, the vote left Booker angry and feeling betrayed. Throughout the episode, he continued to express how blindsided he felt, realizing his relationships were not as strong as he had thought.
After a dramatic immunity win during a torrential downpour, the Savu tribe enjoyed a change of pace, with members participating in a calming yoga session. But a notice soon summoned all the castaways to Jeff Probst, who was waiting with another twist.
With only 17 contestants remaining, the tribes were unevenly divided, with 10 members in Toka and seven in Savu. Probst reshuffled the players and formed a new red tribe called Dina.
The new tribes had to navigate unfamiliar relationships while trying to maintain existing alliances, including strained ones.
Kristin Flickinger, who had been a source of local knowledge for Savu, was moved to Toka. She had few established relationships there beyond Carter Krull, who had mutinied away from his former team the previous week.
Booker was also left with only one apparent ally: Mike Pinsky. But Pinsky became a potential target after appearing to reach out desperately to everyone remaining on his team following the elimination of his main ally.
The new Savu tribe had some familiar connections. Way, Loblack and Jean-Charles reunited after forming an initial “helicopter alliance” on the first day of the game.
However, Jenna Doore, one of Way’s primary targets, and Alexis Levine, the other original Savu member alongside Jean-Charles, were left on the outside. Both tried to hold on to connections from their original tribes.
The Dina tribe, meanwhile, had to start from scratch at a new camp, with only a pot, flint and a machete. Kilby, who had been playing a divisive game in Toka, quickly connected with Eric Maksoud.
Kilby said he liked Maksoud and thought they were similar, but the two appeared to have different intentions. Maksoud seemed pleased to have found a new best friend, while Kilby planned to use the relationship to his advantage.

The three new tribes competed for immunity and rewards. The top-performing tribe won immunity and a coffee kit, while the second-place tribe also won immunity, along with instant coffee.
Despite being a newly formed group, Dina won the first immunity challenge and advantage, while Toka won the second.
Savu was left to face Tribal Council. Doore and Levine campaigned to stay in the game, while Jean-Charles and Loblack had to decide whether to stick with their allies or preserve connections from their original tribe.
Ultimately, Way got his wish from Episode 1, and Doore was eliminated as the fifth contestant voted out.

What is new in this season of ‘Survivor’?
This season introduces a new theme called “Open Era,” which allows advantages and twists from previous seasons to return at any point, creating unpredictable gameplay.
Host Jeff Probst also said the theme could bring back a coin toss similar to one featured in Season 50. The twist could increase the show’s $1 million prize to $2 million.
Probst said that if a contestant fails to win the coin toss, the prize money would still double but transfer to the following season. For example, contestants on Season 52 could compete for $2 million, while a successful coin toss could increase the final prize to $3 million.
