A Nanuet man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly robbed a Chase bank and told a teller he had a gun, according to Clarkstown police.

Clarkstown police said James L. Gordon, 22, of Nanuet entered the Chase Bank at 61 Smith St. in Nanuet around 11 a.m. Saturday and approached a teller station.
Gordon allegedly told the employee he had a gun and demanded money, police said. He then fled the bank on foot at approximately 11:01 a.m.
Clarkstown police arrived around 11:05 a.m. and began searching the surrounding area.
About 20 minutes later, an officer located a man matching the suspect's description in the rear of 122 Route 59, on the property of Ocean State Job Lot, police said.
Gordon faces robbery, menacing charges
Gordon was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery, fourth-degree
grand larceny and third-degree menacing, according to police.
He was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court and transported to the Rockland County Jail, where bail was set at $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.
The charges are allegations, and Gordon is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
