A month after Greenburgh got a new supermarket with Sprouts Farmers Market, comes another: Hartsdale Marketplace, a Key Food Stores Co-Operative, Inc., will have its grand opening celebrations starting at 10 a.m. Oct. 2.
Hartsdale shoppers can expect lots of samples, demos, special sales, and prizes along with door to door delivery, with festivities continuing until Oct. 4.

In addition, the supermarket plans to offer shoppers parking vouchers if they purchase more than $30.
According to Greenburgh Supervisor Paul Feiner, residents have asked for a supermarket on East Hartsdale Avenue for years.
"This is very exciting news for the community and should help revitalize the Avenue and make it better
than it ever was," he said.
"It's the best thing that has happened to East Hartsdale Avenue in decades."
Owner John Taveras said he and his team have tailored a shopping experience that's "inviting and comforting" and that it's "sized to allow staff to know its customers on a first-name basis while offering a vast variety of products." This includes everyday national brands, gourmet items, and products tailored to diverse ethnicities.
The Hartsdale opening comes on top of other big grocery news. There's the aforementioned Sprouts, which opened its first Westchester location Sept. 4. Plus, DeCicco & Sons opened its first grocery store in Greenwich Sept. 9 and is gearing up for Piccolino, a smaller-footprint boutique concept store opening soon at 58 East Parkway in Scarsdale.
