Amid 270 acres of marshland and forested woodland, Constitution Marsh Audubon Center and Sanctuary sits along the eastern bank of the Hudson River in Garrison. Part of the National Audubon Society, the marsh serves as a sanctuary for 30 species of fish and more than 200 species of birds that use the marshland as a breeding area and as a stop along migratory routes.
The site, which is the hub of four Hudson River Audubon sanctuaries, includes 700 of feet of boardwalk that extends into the marsh. It also features hiking trails that run through the forest down to the river. The center offers conservation education programs for adults and students. It also takes part in regional and hemispheric bird studies.
