It's time to determine which varsity sports team in the Lower Hudson Valley is Top Team of the Week, presented by White Plains Hospital, for the period from September 14 to Sept. 20.
Each week, we will accept nominations from athletic departments and team coaches. Then you vote on which team should be Team of the Week.
We encourage departments and coaches to participate. This weekly poll is open to varsity teams (not football) from Westchester, Rockland and Putnam only. Football teams will be included in our Football Team of the Week poll on Mondays. Email Phil Strum at pstrum@lohud.com with any other questions.
The poll, which will run Sunday-Tuesday throughout the school year, closes at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22.

Clarkstown South boys soccer
A scoreless tie against North Rockland was somewhat of a moral victory, but the Vikings also had a scoreless tie against John Jay-Cross River and a win against Yonkers in the last week to go 1-0-2 with three clean sheets. Clarkstown South is coached by Tom Heim.
Pearl River field hockey
The Pirates are off to a good start to this season at 5-1 after beginning 2025 winless in the first six games. Pearl River went 2-1 over the last week, with its first loss of the season coming to Pleasantville in overtime. Six different Pirates have scored this season, led by Claire Pritts, with three goals and two assists. Pearl River is coached by Alyssa McLaughlin.
Pleasantville girls soccer
The Panthers went 3-0 in the last week, including handing Albertus Magnus its first loss since October 2025 with a 2-1 win. Faith Brown had a hat trick and became the first Pleasantville player in history with 100 career goals in a 6-1 win over Briarcliff on Sept. 19. Pleasantville is coached by Tony Portera.
Yorktown girls volleyball
The Huskers beat Lakeland for the championship in their tournament on Sept. 19, with Emma McCoy being named tournament MVP. During the week, Yorktown defeated Hen Hud and Greeley in four sets and swept Somers. Yorktown is coached by Gigi Kemp.
