Lost Borough Ice Cream, which has been in Yonkers since 2021 and Inwood since May, just landed on The New York Times' best ice cream list.
The article, by Mahira Rivers, highlights 18 "exceptional destinations with their own singular blend of quality, charisma and pure deliciousness." Lost Borough, she writes, churns up "fun, culturally relevant flavors like Dominican vanilla or bizcocho, a shout out to the yellow cake staple of birthdays and baby showers." She also mentions their Grape Nut flavor.

Patrick Cruz, who owns the shop with Ka-Wana Jefferson, said opening in Upper Manhattan was a logical next step for them as many of their customers are from the area. Getting put on this
list, especially after only a few months in their new spot, is an "unbelievable honor," he said. "Now we have to get to work and continue to provide the best experience for our customers."
Cruz also told The Journal News/lohud earlier that Inwood is one part of a road map to open in other areas with Brooklyn and Jersey City distinct possibilities.
