Wasn't it just July?
Well, not according to the calendar, which has just flipped to September. With that, local high school field hockey starts -- several days earlier than usual -- with Tuesday's game between the newly-merged Croton/Hen Hud team and Somers.
Hundreds of games will follow before playoffs begin in late October.
Each week, The Journal News/lohud will provide a field hockey scoreboard, listing scheduled games and results and stats, as provided by coaches.
