SCARSDALE - In typical football coach fashion, Andy Verboys spoke matter-of-factly, downplaying the result and even bemoaning the mistakes. It was their first game of the season and, understandably, there were some miscues and missed opportunities.
None of them proved costly, but the was “plenty to clean up,” the coach insisted, and Scarsdale would have a lot to work on in the coming weeks.
Oh, but his expression changed a bit when asked about the offensive line and its physicality, and a subtle smile began to form as he listed them by name.

“We’ve also got a tight end with great size (Hunter Ross) and our blocking back Lucas Handwerger is dynamite,” Verboys said on Sept.
