The hits keep coming. Whether it's an increase in rent, lack of food traffic, the cost effects of the economy, or something else, the summer of 2026 — and it's still officially summer — will go down in the history of the Westchester dining business as one of the most brutal for food closures.
No sooner had I written about five that closed, including two Italian restaurants in business for more than two decades, than word came of a popular fast-casual eatery that started its life as a food truck before transitioning to a brick-and-mortar location.
The last day for Latusion, a Peruvian Latin food truck in Harrison known for its famous "Lomo fries," will shut its doors Sept. 30. According
to an Instagram post, chef/owner Fabian Marquez is going back to his food truck roots.
For now the hours at the fast casual spot are limited.
The eatery, which was designed to mimic the vibe of the food truck (complete with a mural and an ode to Port Chester's Lyon Park where he used to be a permanent fixture), was similar to his truck offerings, albeit with more options. Popular entrees include empanadas, fusion wings, and the aforementioned Lomo fries, a beef stir fry with onion, tomato and cilantro served over crispy fries and layered with sauces.
He still used the food truck for private events, something he'll continue to offer, but now he plans to be back at Lyon Park full time.
"We want to thank you for your loyalty and continued patronage in the last 8 years," he wrote on Instagram. "We have a lot of exciting events coming up this fall and can’t wait to see you guys out on the road again."
