Bad weather caused a shortened and shuffled schedule, but plenty of games were played last week, giving a platform to plenty of standouts who shined. Those performances produced for us 11 candidates for Girls Soccer Player of the Week, presented by White Plains Hospital.
The previous poll winners this season were Camryn Cassese (Eastchester), Olivia Mark (Walter Panas), Paige Neustadt (Scarsdale) and Brooke Matarazzo (Tuckahoe).
Read below about what the nominees accomplished last week, then cast your votes. The poll will be open until 3 p.m. Wednesday, and the winner will be featured on the lohud sports social media accounts.
Pilar Abdel-Aziz, White Plains
The goalie made 11 saves in a 2-0 win over New Rochelle and she had 10 saves in a 1-1 draw against Scarsdale.
Julia Anderton, Nyack
The senior
scored a career-high three goals and had an assist to led the RedHawks in a win over Tappan Zee last Wednesday.
Faith Brown, Pleasantville
The senior followed the performance in which she eclipsed 100 career goals with a four-goal game, leading the Panthers in a win over Sleepy Hollow last Wednesday.
Kayden Delamere, Kennedy Catholic
She had six goals and three assists, leading the Gaels in three victories last week.
Bella Di Muccio, Albertus Magnus
She had two goals and two assists for the Falcons in a 5-0 win over John Jay-East Fishkill, and she scored in their loss to New Jersey's Paul VI on Saturday.
Lyla Kelly, Clarkstown South
The senior scored a career-high four goals and had an assist in the Vikings' win over Suffern. She also had a goal in their 3-0 win over Pearl River.
Brooke Matarazzo, Tuckahoe
The senior scored twice, including the 150th goal of her career, leading the Tigers in a 3-0 win over Putnam Valley. Matarazzo also had two goals and two assists in a win over Leffell.
Maddy Murray, Eastchester
The junior scored three goals to lead the Eagles in a 4-3 win over a surging Pelham.
Valeria Otavalo, Peekskill
The midfielder scored four times in the second half, including the go-ahead goal in the 57th minute, leading Peekskill in a win over Spring Valley.
Sadie Siegel, Byram Hills
The sophomore made a career-high 25 saves in the shutout as the Bobcats pulled a stunning 3-0 upset of Harrison last Friday.
Kinsley Steinhiser, Hen Hud
She scored three of her four goals in the first half to lead the Sailors in a 4-2 win over Westlake last Thursday. Steinhiser also had a hat trick in their 3-0 win over Edgemont.
