Good news for fans of the Centurion Lounge experience from American Express. The credit card company, which recently won kudos from USA Today's 10Best Readers Awards for their Terminal 4 Lounge at JFK, is expanding to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).
Set to open in 2027, the two-story spot in Terminal A will, at 30,000 square feet, be their largest yet.
The addition, thanks to locations at JFK and LGA, will make Amex the first credit card issuer with proprietary spaces across all three major New York City-area airports. So far, the company has 33 spots nationwide.

Details include:
- Premium food and beverage experiences such as a Blue Roast by American Express Coffee and Wellness Bar with coffee from a local roaster. There will also be health-forward offerings, as well as signature dishes from The Culinary Collective by The Centurion Lounge, featuring James Beard Award-winning Resy chefs Kwame Onwuachi, Mike Solomonov, Mashama Bailey and Sarah Grueneberg.
- Three distinct bar experiences including three unique concepts, each offering a different taste of the Garden State. The Main Bar will serve craft cocktails and curated wines, while the Specialty Bar will put a modern spin on New Jersey’s iconic diner culture. At the Pine Barrens-inspired Terrace Bar, guests can enjoy gelato, Italian pastries and Italian-inspired cocktails celebrating the state’s Italian heritage.
- Inspired by New Jersey: The lounge will draw inspiration from New Jersey’s rich cultural heritage and culinary traditions and a sculptural installation celebrating the state’s legacy of invention and discovery.
The lounge welcomes American Express Platinum, Business Platinum and Corporate Platinum cardholders
as well as Centurion Members, and features a speakeasy, specialty coffee and cuisine from Uruguayan-born chef Ignacio Mattos.
