One person was killed and four teenagers were wounded in a shooting at a Yonkers intersection Sunday night, police said.
Five people shot near Elm Street and Palisade Avenue
The shooting happened around 8:43 p.m. Sunday near Elm Street and Palisade Avenue, according to the Yonkers Police Department.
Police said a 20-year-old man was shot in the back and pronounced dead at the scene.
Four other victims — all between the ages of 14 and 16 — suffered gunshot wounds and were taken to area hospitals. Police said all four were listed in critical but stable condition.
Teen suspect in custody
Police said a 15-year-old male was taken into custody at the scene.
Investigators recovered a loaded firearm and ballistic evidence.
Investigation continues
Yonkers police said the shooting was targeted and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
