Students and faculty members reunited after the summer break as hundreds of kids, parents, and faculty members filled Patriots Park in Tarrytown on Wednesday for the 4th annual Back to School Bash hosted by the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns.
Kids enjoyed a bubble machine, a bounce house, an inflatable slide, ice cream, cotton candy as well as live music. The event also included book and bookbag giveaways, science demonstrations, face painting, and other crafts. The Tarrytown police and fire department were also on hand to greet students.

Superintendent Dr. Ray Sanchez said the purpose of the event was "to celebrate the start of the school year with our community,
with families, with our students and our staff. There’s always optimism at the beginning of the school year. We want to maintain that and also let our students know how excited we are for them to enter our schools, and it truly is a community that is there to support them throughout the school year."
The first day of classes in the district is Wednesday, Sept. 2.
A school year is 180 days, with no two days and no two schools exactly alike. The students differ, the teachers differ, school cultures differ.
