TAPPAN - The blue carts are in the corral and the parking lot arrows are painted. So when is Lidl on Route 303 in this Orangetown hamlet going to open?
Lidl US announced its first Rockland County store will be opening at 37 Route 303, Tappan on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony is slated for 7:40 a.m. that day. Regular store hours will be 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
The store, known for its 49-cent butter croissants flown in from Europe and baked fresh daily, is the latest of about 200 Lidl groceries operating in the Northeast. The German grocer has two stores in Westchester.
The store's not far from the New Jersey border, on the east (northbound) side of Route 303.
Free croissants, coffee at opening
Visitors to the Sept. 16 Tappan ribbon-cutting can get croissants and
coffee, plus deals for early shoppers.
