New York State Police have released the names of two children who were killed and another child who was critically injured in a crash involving a vehicle and two Amish buggies Friday in Richland, Oswego County.
2 children killed in crash
The crash happened around 9:16 a.m. Sept. 25 at the intersection of County Route 41 and Manwaring Road, according to State Police. A 2017 Dodge operated by Terri M. Russell, 47, of Sandy Creek, was traveling south on County Route 41 when it struck two Amish buggies traveling in the same direction.
Anna J. Hershberger, 13, and Moses J. Hershberger, 7, were pronounced dead at the scene.
A 10-year-old boy in the same buggy suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. An 8-year-old girl was not injured.
9-year-old girl remains hospitalized
The other buggy was occupied by
five children.
Emma Swartzentruber, 9, was transported to Upstate University Hospital in critical condition. As of Sept. 28, she was listed in stable condition but remained hospitalized.
Four boys, ages 6, 7, 8 and 11, were transported for evaluation and listed in stable condition with minor injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing
