A Las Vegas man was arrested after New York State Police investigators said he stole $9,600 worth of Pokémon cards from a vendor at Anime NYC in Manhattan.
Investigators from Troop NYC's Manhattan Criminal Squad arrested Joseph Quach on Aug. 21 following an investigation into the theft earlier that day at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
According to State Police, investigators identified and located Quach after the theft and took him into custody.
Suspect faces felony charges
Quach was taken to the New York Police Department's 10th Precinct for processing before being transported to Manhattan Central Booking, where he was expected to be arraigned.
He faces charges of third-degree grand larceny and third-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Both are Class D
felonies.
Anime NYC is being held at the Javits Center through Aug. 23, 2026.
