The Joseph B. Clarke Rail Trail is a popular walking and biking trail built on an old abandoned railroad line bed in Orangetown.
The route runs from Blauvelt, near the library, through Orangeburg, Sparkill and Tappan. In Orangeburg, a pedestrian bridge was built for the trail over busy Route 303. In Sparkill, a spur off the trail follows the Old Erie Path into Piermont.
The trail is named after an Orangetown Superintendent of Parks, Recreation and Building Maintenance who was instrumental in the town's rails-to-trails program.
