A 68-year-old man was killed Thursday morning after an unoccupied pickup truck rolled backward and struck him at a work site in Blauvelt, Rockland County, according to Orangetown police.

Police said officers found the man unresponsive around 8:21 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at a work site on Bradley Parkway.
The man was struck by a Ford F-350 pickup truck after the unoccupied vehicle began rolling backward, police said.
South Orangetown Ambulance Corps and Rockland Paramedic Services responded to the scene. The man was pronounced dead, according to police.
Police investigate fatal incident
The reason the truck began rolling backward remains under investigation, police said.
