President Donald Trump is scheduled to headline a midterm election rally in Syracuse on Friday, according to an event listing published by the Republican Party.
The event is scheduled for Oct. 9. Organizers say doors will open at 3 p.m. EDT, the program will begin at 5:30 p.m. and Trump's remarks are expected to start at 7 p.m.
The event will take place at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center, 800 S State St. in Syracuse.
What is expected at the rally
While organizers have released only a limited schedule and location, Trump is expected to use the event to rally supporters and campaign on behalf of Republican candidates ahead of the November midterm elections.
Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman is also expected to attend the event, according to published reports.
The Syracuse
stop comes as political campaigns intensify across New York and other states in the final weeks before voters head to the polls.
Organizers have not released additional details about speakers, security procedures or attendance expectations.
