A peaceful getaway is just a 15-minute drive from downtown White Plains at Cranberry Lake Preserve in North White Plains.
Operated by the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation, the 197-mile preserve features a four-acre lake, approximately seven miles of hiking trails, a nature center, free weekend programs, a summer camp for kids as well as children’s birthday parties.
Since 1967, the park has been a haven for migratory birds, turtles and other animals.
There is no charge for entrance or parking and the preserve is open year-round. More information can be found at parks.westchestercountyny.gov/cranberry-lake.
We are rivers, woods,
mountains. Skyscrapers, sidewalks. Traffic. Solitude. A vibe. Cities, towns, villages, hamlets. Here, our photographers train their craft on what makes this place our place.
