The stage is set.
Section 1 officially finalized the playoff brackets Sunday and the quarterfinals in each classification will kick off this weekend. The championships will be played Nov. 13-14 at North Rockland High School.
Arlington earned the No. 1 seed in Class AA, which utilized a confusing and complex formula that essentially prevented the coaches from understanding potential matchups during the season. The other classifications based seeding on league play. Somers and Clarkstown South are the top seeds in Class A. Westlake and Pelham are the top seeds in Class B. Bronxville got the No. 1 seed in Class C and Tuckahoe is the No. 1 seed in Class D.
Mamaroneck (AA), Rye (A), Sleepy Hollow (B), Bronxville (C) and Tuckahoe (D) are the defending
Section 1 champions. We'll have live brackets and bracket breakdowns online later this week along with a playoff scoreboard tracking all the results each week.
