Two men have been indicted on felony drug charges in connection with an alleged heroin sale in Rockland County, according to the Rockland County District Attorney's Office.
District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II said Marvin Jeanty, 42, of Monroe, also known as "Cream," and Jordan Miranda, 23, of Paterson, New Jersey, were indicted following an investigation by the Rockland Drug Task Force into an alleged heroin distribution operation in the Village of Airmont.
Prosecutors allege Jeanty and Miranda acted together to arrange the sale of approximately one-half kilogram of heroin in Airmont on May 19. The transaction involved about $18,000, according to the district attorney's office.
Both men were charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance
in the first degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree, both Class A-I felonies, as well as criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, both Class B felonies.
Jeanty was arraigned Oct. 2 before Judge Kevin F. Russo in Rockland County Court. Bail was set at $100,000 cash or a $1 million bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 25.
Miranda was apprehended in New Jersey and remains in custody there pending extradition proceedings to New York, prosecutors said.
