This season, we'll run high school field hockey scoring leaders, based on stats submitted by coaches.
This will be points-based with goals and assists added together and will include all teams from Section 1, as well as area private schools.
The list will not include all scorers, just the very top for the season with the minimum scoring number required to make the list rising each week.
This initial list, coming after the season opened last week, includes players with three or more points. It reflects games played through Tuesday, Sept. 8.
The list is not intended as a ranking of top players. It does not reflect minutes played. In many instances, coaches remove starters in lopsided games.
