An Orange County man was arrested Saturday after police said he attacked a woman aboard a JetBlue flight while passengers were waiting to disembark at Westchester County Airport.
According to Westchester County police, Karl Conboy, 53, of Wallkill, was arguing with a woman who was standing behind him in the aisle of the plane after it landed around 3 p.m.
Police said Conboy shoved the woman, causing her to knock over her 4-year-old son, who was standing with her. Conboy then punched the woman in the head several times, according to a witness statement and video obtained by Westchester County police.
Woman, child treated at airport
The woman and her son were treated at the scene by EMS workers, police said.
The woman suffered bruising and swelling to her forehead, while the child
sustained a laceration and swelling to the back of his head, according to police.
Orange County man faces charges
Conboy was arrested and charged with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors. He was released on his own recognizance, police said.
