With the boys soccer season getting underway next week, we're preparing to launch lohud's annual Elite 11 selections. We started with a watch list that included more than 100 standouts that local coaches nominated, and that's since paired it down to about a third, a grouping of the strongest candidates for the distinction.
Each of these players has compiled an impressive resume to this point, highlighted by some combination of awards and accolades, their contributions to team success, and skills that have impressed their peers and area coaches, with consideration given to college commitments.
The Elite 11 will be selected and revealed online Sept. 1, before the regular season kicks off.
