A Tarrytown man was arrested and charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a Bronx woman in New Jersey.
Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said Paramus police responded to Route 17 South near Westfield Garden State Plaza at about 5:09 p.m. Oct. 19 for a reported crash.

Officers found Krisiann Reyes Rivera, 31, of the Bronx, lying in the roadway with life-threatening injuries. She was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators determined that Rivera was a passenger in a 2015 Buick involved in a collision with a 2024 Acura towing a U-Haul trailer driven by Estuardo G. Rodriguez, 31, of Tarrytown, New York, according to prosecutors.
After the initial collision, Rivera exited
the Buick, approached the Acura and struck one of its windows, prosecutors said. Authorities allege Rodriguez then accelerated, struck Rivera, knocked her to the ground and ran her over with the rear tire of the U-Haul trailer.
Prosecutors said Rodriguez drove off Route 17 South onto Garden State Plaza Boulevard, where witnesses who had followed him blocked his vehicle in traffic about a half-mile from the crash scene. Witnesses then flagged down a Paramus police officer, who detained him.
Tarrytown man faces multiple charges
Investigators later determined Rodriguez was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and had a suspended license, according to prosecutors.
Rodriguez was charged with second-degree death by auto, second-degree knowingly leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, third-degree endangering an injured victim, third-degree driving while suspended in a collision resulting in death, and multiple motor vehicle offenses, including driving while intoxicated.
He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending an appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack.
