It was somewhat of a truncated schedule because of the holiday last week, but there still were some exciting games and players showing out. Those impressive individual performances resulted in us having nine candidates for Boys Soccer Player of the Week, presented by White Plains Hospital.
Last week’s poll winner was Sebastian Chacon (Ardsley).
Read below about what the nominees accomplished last week, then cast your votes. The poll will be open until 3 p.m. Wednesday, and the winner will be featured on the lohud sports social media accounts.
Marlon Elias, Clarkstown South
He had three goals and an assist to lead the Vikings in a win over Hen Hud last Tuesday.
Eoughan Fitzgerald, Pearl River
The junior assisted both goals, including setting up Will Painter-Farrell for the winner, leading the Pirates in a 2-1
upset of Keio.
Jostin Hernandez, Peekskill
He had two goals and an assist in the Red Devils' win over Nanuet, and he put them on the board in the third minute of an eventual 3-1 win over Putnam Valley.
Leo Hyde, Pelham
The senior had a hat trick, leading the Pelicans in a 4-1 win over Ardsley last Tuesday.
Christian Moscati, Lakeland
The senior scored the winner with two minutes left, lifting Lakeland to a 1-0 win over Pearl River in the Westchester vs. Rockland Showcase.
Liam Muller, Walter Panas
He shined defensively in a 1-0 win over Tappan Zee, slowing fast breaks, deflecting a corner kick, blocking a would-be shot on goal during a breakaway and forcing turnovers before the Panthers' offense broke through in the 78th minute.
Ashwin Sookram, Brewster
He scored twice, including the deciding goal in a win over Yonkers Montessori, and the scored in the Bears' 2-2 tie with Nyack.
Jo Watanabe, Keio
The junior scored a career-high five goals and had an assist in the Unicorns' win over Nyack last Monday.
Felix Wismer, Rye
The junior had three goals and an assist last week, helping the Garnets dominate high-profile games against Harrison and Arlington.
