The siblings of a 32-year-old woman who died following a two-vehicle collision in Stockton have created a fundraiser to help pay for her funeral expenses.
Ta’Liah Mechae Dupree was driving near El Dorado and Park streets on Oct. 17 when she was involved in a crash. The Stockton Police Department responded to the scene at 7:40 p.m. and found Dupree with major injuries.
She was taken to a hospital, where she died the following day.
Police said the occupants of the second vehicle suffered minor injuries. All of the occupants involved in the crash were taken to a hospital.
Dynesha Lucas, the organizer of the GoFundMe, wrote that the family is “facing the heartbreaking reality of planning her funeral while also struggling financially.”
“Right now, we
cannot afford all of the funeral expenses, and we need help as soon as possible,” Lucas said.
The fundraiser has a goal of $7,000 and had raised $3,926, as of Thursday afternoon.
Lucas wrote that the money raised would go directly toward funeral expenses so Dupree’s family could give her a proper service and lay her to rest.
“If you are able to donate or share this fundraiser, it would mean so much to our family during this painful time,” Lucas said. “Thank you for your support, kindness, and prayers. Sharing the fundraiser link would also be incredibly helpful.”
The cause of the collision remains under investigation, police said.
