Multiple food distributions will take place in San Joaquin County this month as part of the San Joaquin County Human Services Agency’s Food For You Program.
Food distributions began this week and will continue on Sept. 15 through the end of the month for San Joaquin County residents who self-certify residency and meet income guidelines. A total of 23 food distributions are scheduled for September.
"Items include shelf-stable canned vegetables, fruit, meat, and dry foods such as rice or pasta," a San Joaquin County Human Services Agency’s news release states.
The San Joaquin County Food For You website states that residents must complete the EFAP Certification of Eligibility document to declare income eligibility. Residents planning to receive free
food at one of the distributions are recommended to bring their own bag or box.
"The food may run out before the scheduled ending time," the news release states.
Food distributions ZIP codes correspond to the neighboring communities near the distribution sites, the county said.
Income guidelines include:
- $3,064.79, one person
- $4,141.88, two people
- $5,218.96, three people
- $6,296.04, four people
- $7,373.13, five people
- $8,450.21, six people
For each additional person living in the household, the county suggests to add $1,077.09 to the monthly income.
