A 21-year-old man was arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 72-year-old woman in Stockton.
Police have identified Kevin McKinsley-Harris as the suspect in the stabbing.
The Stockton Police Department said officers responded at 12:43 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1 to the 2200 block of Hackberry Street to conduct a welfare check following a report of a person stabbed.
At the scene, police said they found the woman suffering from stab wounds. Her identity has not yet been released.
Police said the motive for the stabbing is still under investigation and were not able to confirm the exact relationship between McKinsley-Harris and the victim. However, police described the relationship as
domestic and they knew each other.
The death marked the city’s 21st homicide this year compared to 26 last year at the same time.
